Dragon Lineage


Inspired by the myth of nine legendary dragon sons, this cultural icon project reimagines traditional Chinese symbols through the lens of contemporary design.
The set  introduce the rich diversity of Chinese dragons to a global, youth-oriented audience.

Each son is redesigned using clean vector language and modern aesthetics—softening their mythical distance while enhancing approachability. The goal is to make these icons expressive, youthful, and visually adaptable across media.
 



Ya Zi, wolf- or leopard-like, symbolizes fierceness and valor, often found on weapon hilts or door knockers.


Chi Wen, dragon-fish hybrid, swallows fire and water—placed on roofs to protect from fire.
Suan Ni, lion-like, enjoys sitting quietly—used at the base of incense burners or Buddha thrones.



Chao Feng, lynx-like. Is adventurous and vigilant, often perched on eaves or rooftops, it serves as a guardian figure to ward off evil spirits.


Bi An, tiger-like, stands for justice and clarity—used in legal buildings or prisons.
